Sell and give to the poor. Work that you might have extra to give. These commands I give you not for the poor, but for you that are poor in giving. Empty are the pockets of the rich if that richness is not given. Why do you still struggle? Why do you squirm even with much more than yesterday? Life is not in abundance, but in the flow of that abundance. Water in a cistern lives not, regardless of the cistern’s size. Flowing water is living water. Giving out, it gives life not only to those that receive, but even more to he that gives. What good is a full vessel that has no outlet? Your life is given for others. You are not your own. Bought with the price of My life, it is now to be given out with the same love to others. With great generosity comes great freedom. Life flows from flowing abundance. Pressed down and brittle is the life of the hoarder. One day all riches of the earth will come to have no value – gold as asphalt. Use what is given today to flow blessing, it shall be remembered in eternity with no depreciation of value. Your blessings have been given to you that many more will know My Name. The work of your hands are a beacon to the world through the light of generosity. Work not only to gain, but much more to give, and great will be your gain.

Matt. 6:19-20 (ESV) – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (ESV) – The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Bottom Line:  True abundance is not in great accumulation, but in great generosity. When we live our lives with a generous and loving heart, truly trying to help others, and grow the Kingdom of God, we accumulate eternal treasure in the eyes of the Lord. We are blessed by Him to be a blessing. We are given work and opportunity not so much to increase our standard of living, but our standard of giving. Its not the world’s way, but it is His way. So today let His Word work in you.
