My path is for the faithful, and only they can follow it. The way is blinded to the eyes of the body. Only do those who seek My voice follow its call. Safety and comfort are not its whisper, but loudly it speaks of sacrifice, of uncertainty in the days of its coming. Is it not the way of all of My creation? Do the seasons not follow their path? Each day the raven eats, as well as the dove. Neither knows of the day to come, but each follows, and each fits within the great orchestra of life. Each following, each called to their way. With man the choice is given, and the way blind, and through faith – called and given courage. Do not fear where you will go, nor the loss of leaving. My call is the greater way. You shall eat along the way, and you shall have all that is needed for the journey. I go before and follow after. Rejoice in the rough road, for in it brings great perseverance, and rejoice in the oasis that you may be refreshed. Be ready at all times, that you would not miss the way. Decide before your resolve, that in the calling the response would be quickened and the steed and rider ready for the charge of its Master.
Psalm 37:25 (ESV) – I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.
Jeremiah 10:23 (ESV) – I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
Matthew 16:24 (ESV) – Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Bottom Line: The Lord wants to lead each of us along our way. The problem is that we really, in our natural state, want to go our own way. Even if we have an inner call to do more in the Kingdom, many times the world calls us louder and we never follow the call of our Lord. Others fear; they feel the call, but are just simply too scared to do it. Leaving security, leaving comfort and convenience is just too much. The Holy Spirit reminds us today, that God takes care of His faithful people when they answer His call. They get what is needed for the job, and their choice is celebrated in the heart of God. They just have to move forward in faith. Remember – just one step in that direction may be all that is needed to start a journey for which you were born to take – with Him!
